Empowering Churches, Transforming Communities

Gary Wilkerson – July 15, 2013

Since 2005, World Poverty Solutions has helped impoverished communities across the globe through a wholistic approach that combats poverty through physical and spiritual development while emphasizing church planting, evangelism and discipleship. World Poverty Solutions was developed as a Christ-centered, biblical wholistic mission to serve and bless communities by treating poverty as a comprehensive problem. Our strategy is to touch the whole person by providing localized training that multiplies Christ’s compassionate redemption to an entire community—through programs of health and hygiene, economic possibilities and job skills, and spiritual growth and nourishment.

More Than Charity

When Peter and John saw the paralytic begging at the Beautiful Gate in Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit showed them more of that man’s needs than met the eye. Their words to him—“In the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk”—were not simply an act of charity. They were words of transformation. God “made all things new” for this man by providing physical healing, restored dignity and spiritual blessing. Yet transformation did not stop with the paralytic. His community, which had seen him continually in need, now beheld him as a blessed, healed, joyful fellow community member— and they worshiped God.

Alleviating Poverty Through Transformation

Alleviating poverty wherever possible is the long-term goal of World Poverty Solutions. Through the efforts of local churches, and with your prayers and support, transformation is taking place in villages and towns all over the world. The glorious results are cleaner water, improved agricultural methods, and healthier children and adults, improved education, restored relationships and financial stability—all to the glory of Jesus Christ, the Source of life.
