Flooded into Partnership

Flooded into Partnership

Steve Otradovec – October 24, 2017

In mid-August, Pastor Dee, one of our Laotian partners, shared about a devastating flood in Northern Laos and Northeast Thailand. Our partner indicated that more than 70 villages in 7 districts were in desperate need of basic living support including clean water, food, first aid and blankets. Our Laotian church partners immediately began reaching out and acted as the hands and feet of Christ to their neighbors in Thailand bringing much needed relief. They went and assisted in cleaning houses, rebuilding and sharing the love of Christ both in word and deed.

World Poverty Solutions happily joined in their cause, providing funds to buy needed supplies for their work. Through their efforts, they directly helped restore more than 20 families and came alongside the efforts of 25 churches in Thailand, building lasting unity between believers in the two nations. Through efforts like these, we hope to encourage relationships across national and ethnic lines, so that locals in Laos will have open doors to bring hope and transformation through wholistic poverty solutions to their neighbors in Thailand in the coming years. Pastor Dee shared, “Our brothers were so happy and encouraged from the relief.  On behalf of the team and church, we give thanks to the Lord and all of you for your love and help that benefited the local churches and kingdom of God.”
