Living Hope in Northern India

Living Hope in Northern India

Keith Holloway – October 15, 2015

Jivit Asha – Living Hope Ministries, a partner of World Poverty Solutions, is in India’s largest state of Uttar Pradesh, with more than 203 million souls. Over the past 17 years, through effective evangelism and discipleship, Jivit Asha has pioneered over 40,000 house churches with an estimated 9 million believers. Yet two challenges remain: win more and offer them all a biblical response to poverty.

Beginning January 2016, World Poverty Solutions is responding to the ‘call of the brethren to come’ by beginning a multi-year ministry of poverty alleviation using Community Health Evangelism (CHE) to a targeted group of 4,000 house churches across eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Beginning right in Varanasi, the birth place of Hinduism, local believers in village house churches will be equipped with multiple resources, encouraged in the self practice of poverty alleviation, inspired by essential wholistic trainings, and empowered to be agents of change by inspiring others in the transfer of vital knowledge and supplies for long-term sustainable transformation.

Please pray with us that this expression of God’s love will touch the hearts of every person we encounter. Pray that the eyes of many will be opened to see the love only Jesus can give.
