A Miraculous Healing, a Family Transformed

A Miraculous Healing, a Family Transformed

Emily Chamberlain – June 19, 2017

In rural Northern Uganda Mary Okori, a housewife and mother of six, had suffered for three years with severe pain in her legs; pain that left her unable to walk without the help of crutches. Mary visited countless hospitals, clinics and doctors but did not find relief. She called on religious leaders from various denominations for prayer but still did not receive healing. Instead her condition worsened. Otim Geoffrey, a member of one of our partner churches, heard her story and told her about the deliverance team, a prayer and evangelism ministry connected with World Poverty Solutions’ local CHE (Community Health & Evangelism) ministry. She shared the information with her husband Jasper and he immediately invited the deliverance team to come and pray for Mary. The team prayed for her, along with the rest of her family. Like the paralytic whom Peter healed in the book of Acts, Mary immediately began “walking and leaping and praising God” (Acts 3:8). Upon experiencing this miracle, both Mary and her husband received Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
